When I began writing, I thought it would be mostly about econ policy, money, etc., and a little about mountains. I moved organically towards the more philosophical. And I think that will be the predominant direction.

Very interesting! I guess I had two questions after reading the article: the first one is - is anyone in government listening? The second is, are Indians very different from any other peoples in terms of thinking that the future will be much better than the past?
After writing this, I asked myself the second question, and I will try to research it.
As far as the first question is concerned, I think:
a. The government is listening, and they are concerned.
b. They are trying to fix things but the fixed are mostly band-aid, and deeper structural issues are not understood deeply enough.
c. Meanwhile, constant messaging thaat we are the fastest growing economy, etc.- I think this may help convincing people that things could be worse. Also, it has a functional aspect, in that it can help motivate greater investment for those who possibly don't understand the economy well enough.
