Uncertainty and the Valley of Flowers Bhyundar Valley, Uttarakhand In 1984, I took my very first trek, to the Valley of Flowers, where the Bhyundar flows through alpine meadows, to join the Alaknanda between Badrinath and Joshimath. It was not my first long walk in the mountains - my father had taken us on pilgrimages to Kedarnath and Amarnath, but this was the first time I set off with a friend, to explore the beauty and adventure of the high mountains.
